Tickets

My tickets for the upcoming season of Broadway Across America came in the mail today. Grease in Sept, The Color Purple in Oct, 101 Dalmations in Jan, and The Wizard of Oz in March. I have to say I'm not at all impressed with this year's lineup. Grease is going to have Taylor Hicks as Teen Angel. Not a fan of Mr. Hicks. Thank God he's not playing Danny! The Color Purple is the only one I'm really looking forward to.

My Madonna Lily

There's a large section of land that hasn't been cut in over five years. It used to be done all the time, but the cost went up each year and since we never used the land, we just let it all grow over. Now it is filled with brush and pine trees. If it were to be cleared now, it would take a chain saw.

The county cuts weeds that grow along side of the road. They usually only cut so far, but the other day they cut much deeper than normal. Right after they cut I noticed a tall lily that I'd never seen before. It had to have seeded sometime in the past five years.

I took a shovel to move it away from the road. It stuck out like a sore thumb and I couldn't help but wonder if someone would pull over and try to snatch it. It was very easy to remove. I thought a plant that tall would be deep rooted and being a lily, would have a bulb at least a foot into the ground. Turns out this type of plant's bulb roots towards the surface so it was no problem getting it out of the ground. With roots it's about six feet tall.

I hope it will survive the transplant.
