Slatkin Christmas

Here are some of my Harry Slatkin christmas pieces. Slatkin & Co. makes candles and fragrances for Bath & Body Works and QVC, but I only collect the ceramic pieces. Perfect designs -- simple and uncluttered.

The penguin and snowman cookie jars and mugs came from B&BW last year, the Santa candle, a QVC exclusive, I got off eBay last month. The polar bear and deer candles are just some of 2009 B&BW's offerings.

B&BW also has cookie jars, oil warmers, and a new style snowman for this year. What I would LOVE to have are the over sized display units...

Tree

Friday, November 13, 2009

I get email.

I listed a few Fiesta auctions recently. One of them was for a pair of vintage Fiesta candlestick holders in red. Here are the actual photos I used in the auction showing the top and bottom views.

The item description was as follows: Vintage Fiesta bulb-type candlesticks in radioactive red. Pair. Excellent condition. A few small glaze pops, but NO chips, NO cracks and NO crazing. Buyer agrees to pay shipping.

With shipping, the final cost was $31.00 for the pair -- an excellent price for vintage candle holders.

If anyone is not happy with their purchase, they can return it for a FULL refund. No questions asked. I've been buying and selling on eBay for over ten years and get a complaint now and then like the one I got this morning regarding this auction:

I received the candle holders and they are new and tangerine, not red and vintage. I only collect old Fiesta. In new they would be considered seconds with the glaze pops.Any options?

First of all, I mentioned the glaze pops in the auction. There were only two or three and very small. I couldn't even get them to show up in the photos. Secondly, I am one of last people on earth who would confuse new with old. This was my response:

If you wish to send them back for a full refund, that is O.K.

I must tell you, there is no way they are new candlesticks. I have been collecting Fiesta for over twenty-five years and don't deal in the new Fiesta. If that isn't enough, I've written four books on pottery, two of which focus on Fiesta:

My first book on Fiesta and Lu-ray:

My second book on Homer Laughlin dinnerware:

My third book on Taylor, Smith & Taylor dinnerware:

My fourth book on solid colored dinnerware, which includes Fiesta:

In any case, you can still send them back and I will give you a full refund.

I have yet to get a response.
